… 98 – on pernambuco under the frog
We have a full-size trade cello bow. The bow is pernambuco specie, nickel silver mounted, and round-section. The bow was made around 2000 and is in very good condition. We have gone over the stick and replaced the old leathers with new, cleaned up the stick, polished the silver, and rehaired the bow. The stamp on the bow is inverted and there is an additional marking of the number 98 branded into the stick under the frog. The stick itself is a darker orange/brown color, and I like the proportions of the width every few inches on the stick. The frog is a Parisian eye model, and the bow is finished with a three-piece endscrew. It is firm in its character and the camber is gradual from the head to the middle of the bow. The bow is light in the hand but feels slightly heavier. This stick will make a very nice bow for a player just getting into a pernambuco bow. The stick has a traditional look and feel.
