We are pleased to offer this lovely and remarkably well-kept instrument by Paul Didier. Like the violins of his contemporary Georges Apparut, this violin shows the hand of a fastidious craftsman taken up with pristine workmanship.
The instrument’s graceful arching contributes to its deep, plush sonority. The head is superbly cut with great skill in a distinctively French style. Finally, the varnish is lush and deep, artfully applied with the most subtle shading.
This particular example is an award-winner as evidenced by the label:
Medallies d’Or – Grand Prix
Aux Expositions de PARIS, SENS, TOULOUSE
Et du MEILLEUR ARTISAN de France
