Max Wunderlich Violin Bow – CURRENTLY OUT ON TRIAL –
$2,600.00
Beautiful chocolate color octagonal section pernambuco bow believed to have been made in Germany in the 1930's. Faithfully restored, the bow features sterling silver full mount and winding, ebony frog with pearl Parisian eyes and slide, and a three-piece silver and ebony button.
The maker, Max Wunderlich, is somewhat of an enigma. We know that he was born in Erlbach, Bavaria in 1893 and died in Erlbach in 1968. He apprenticed with H.R. Pfretzschner and did his journeyman training with H.W. Prell before setting up his own shop; this bow is a fine example of the training that he received from these two masters.
Weight fully haired 58.7 grams.
