M. Pereira Handmade Sterling Silver Cello Bow
$1,650.00
Founded in the United States in 2004, L’Archet Brasil had a mission to distribute bows made by skilled luthiers in Brazil. The business model was that L’Archet would distribute the bows in the U.S. and the bowmakers would retain their independence. L’Archet has since expanded to Europe and Japan. In Portugal, they have five bowmakers and three apprentices.
The bow was handmade in Portugal for J.R. Judd Violins and is round-section, pernambuco, and mounted in sterling silver with silver winding. The fully-lined ebony frog is adorned with opulent mother-of-pearl for both the Parisian eyes and the slide; the photos really don’t do it justice. The bow is finished with a leather thumb grip, imitation ivory tip, and an elegant solid silver adjuster.
