J. B. Vuillaume** Two Star Sterling Silver Violin Bow circa 2015 – CURRENTLY OUT ON TRIAL –
$650.00
Stamped:
This two star violin bow was made in a Romanian or a Czech Republic workshop. The bow was in a Gliga intermediate violin outfit. We sold the violin a few years back and just got to completing the bow. The Gliga workshop shop has been making string instruments since 1980 in central Romania. Many of their outfits source out the bow work. The bow was slightly used that came with a violin. The bow has been re-haired, the stick cleaned, and the silver polished. It is pernambuco specie, round in section, and in sterling silver mount. The frog is French style, being a Parisian eye model with round edges. The silver under-slide rides on an indented carved out track that helps keep the frog perfectly aligned. The stick gradually broadens from directly behind the head to the center of the stick. Both the frog and stick are well done in the French style of bow making. The three-piece button itself is very ornate with a beautiful green hue octagonal faceted button pearl. The eyes and mother-of-pearl slide are elegant, completed in white abalone. The bow feels light in the hand and plays well.
