Stamped:

EMILE DUPREE
FRANCE – butt end of the stick

We have a very good 20th century pernambuco bass bow, round-section, in excellent condition. The “Emile Dupree” name was a trade name used to sell bows before and after the second World War. The stick shows the origin, helping us to date the bow prior to World War II and made in France. The bow is finished off in nickel mounts and was made for the Metropolitan Music Co. to be sold in America. Bows that were not branded with FRANCE on the butt end of the bow were made in Germany. It is an outstanding playing French model bow, firm with some flex.
