Old-world craftsmanship and materials come together in our Eastman 405 violas. Crafted in a traditional workshop method from superb tonewoods and hand varnished in the Eastman workshop. The varnish used on our model 405 instruments emulates the exceptional varnishes from a century ago where a small number of master workshops in Markneukirchen, Germany distinguished themselves by developing some of the best varnishes of the modern era. These instruments provide excellent sound and playability.
