The G. A. Götz jr. company is still operating today. It began 130 years ago by the current owner’s great grandfather Conrad August Götz. The Götz shop survived two world wars and has been family owned since 1884. The Götz Music Instrument Co. is located in the university town of Erlangen, Germany, situated less than 40 miles from Bubenreuth, one of the great instrument making villages of Europe. Conrad had many fine instruments and bows made in that small town that eventually helped make his name and music company known all over the world. This violin bow is in very good condition. The bow is from the mid 1960’s. It is pernambuco specie, octagonal section, and mounted in nickel silver fittings. The stick is strong/firm with a Parisian eye frog and a three-piece end screw in octagonal section. The bow has a balance point in the middle to lower half. We have given the bow a new nickel silver winding, new leathers, and completely cleaned up the bow.
