Handmade in Suzhou, China by Samuel Shen. This Tertis pattern viola features a two-piece maple back and two-piece spruce top with a hand applied oil varnish. Fitted in ebony with Helicore strings. This instrument is a bargain for the budget minded player or teacher looking for a smaller viola. A Shen Model 800 normally sells for $1900, so you get the great sound at a great price.
