The stamp is inverted on the bow directly above the frog and the bow is also branded FRANCE on the bottom flat behind the frog. The bow is from the most famous historical French bow making area in all of Europe. If you wanted to learn bow or violin making from a master you journeyed to Mirecourt, situated 90 miles Southeast of Paris. Our ¾ size bow was made in Mirecourt and is a lightweight gem for the player looking for a fine stick. It contains silver thread winding finished with leather thumb grip, nickel mounted fittings in a fully lined ebony frog. The stick is round in section and made out of pernambuco. The bow has been restored here at the shop and ready for playing.
