Samuel Shen Model 80 Laminated Bass

The Samuel Shen Model 80 bass is constructed from a laminate wood which provides a good tone at a reasonable cost. The instrument is fully laminated, with an attractive lacquer varnish and hand-carved neck and scroll. This instrument comes with an adjustable French bridge with walnut wheels and all ebony fittings. Our standard setup includes a set of D'Addario Prelude Strings.

Available in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 sizes.

Samuel Shen Model 88 Laminated Oil Finish Bass

The Shen model 88 features an oil finish, giving this new instrument an old world look and setting it apart from the typical instrument in this price range.  This bass has ebony fittings and an adjustable French bridge with walnut wheels.  Our standard setup includes a set of D'Addario Helicore strings. This instrument provides a great tone at a reasonable cost.

1/16 Pietro Moretti Bass

This 1/16 size bass is made for younger students approximately 4 to 6 years old (depending on their size). This bass features a two piece flamed maple back. Two piece spruce top. Is fitted with an ebony fingerboard and tailpiece as well as brass tuning machines. The maple bridge but does not include adjustable wheels. The bass is strung with D'Addario Prelude strings which were made specifically for this size bass.

1/10 Pietro Moretti Bass

This 1/10 size bass is made for students approximately 5 to 8 years old (depending on their size). This bass features a two piece flamed maple back. Two piece spruce top. The bass is strung with D'Addario Prelude strings which were made specifically for this size bass.

"The Blonde" Bass

This Samuel Shen Model 90 bass, refered to as "the blonde," is constructed from a laminate wood which provides a nice punch to the tone. This bass is finished in a clear lacquer, contains an ebony fingerboard, ebony tailpiece, nut, and saddle. The instrument also has special engraved machines. It is setup with La Bella Black Nylon Series strings. This bass is made to look and sound like the old Kay basses and has been set up with jazz players in mind.
